Own an iPhone 15 Pro or 16? You Could Get Paid in Apple's $250M Siri Settlement

Some iPhone owners may be able to claim a share of a big payout.

Apple agreed to pay $250 million to settle claims that it misled customers about Siri's Apple Intelligence features.

What the lawsuit was about

Apple was accused of advertising Siri's advanced AI features before they were ready.

The National Advertising Division also concluded that Apple misled users by saying the new Siri was "now available."

The settlement says it is not an admission of liability or wrongdoing by Apple.

Who can claim

The deal covers up to 36 million iPhone users in the U.S.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Bought an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 model
  • Made that purchase between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025
  • Are the original buyer, and did not buy the phone to resell it

How much could you get?

Approved claims could receive up to $95 per device, with an average payout of about $25.

Customers with a valid claim form will initially get $25 per eligible device.

The exact amount won't be known until all claims are evaluated.

How to file a claim

Go to SmartphoneAISettlement.com.

You'll need to provide:

  • Your name, number, and address
  • Your iPhone's serial number, which is in your phone's settings

You can choose to receive your payment as a physical or digital check.

Key dates

The claim window opened September 21 and closes December 21, 2026.

It's not yet known when claimants will be paid.

A court still has to decide whether to approve the settlement, at a hearing in 2027.

If the settlement is approved, appeals could cause further delays.

What the lawyers and Apple said

Ryan Clarkson, one of the attorneys on the case, called it the largest false advertising settlement in history.

Apple said it settled to stay focused on delivering innovative products and services.

The bottom line

If you fit the purchase window, don't wait until the December 21 deadline.

Check your purchase date and serial number first, then file at the official site.
